Easter 2010

Dear St. Mark Community,

As we approach the end of the Lenten Season we can all look forward to the change of seasons, to Springtime and the great celebration of Easter with universal joy. Soon church bells will begin pealing the Good News that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.

Our country, and the world, coninues to recover from the economic challenges that have plagued all of us for the last couple of years. We must encourage one another to have faith and trust that things will be better sooner than later. Regardless of difficulties that wish to bring us down our spiritual community continues to be strong. Our parishioners continue to gather faithfully and celebrate our Liturgies enthusiastically with full participation. Our parish continues to reach out to the less fortunate and, in particular, when the cry was heard from the people of Haiti in their darkest hour. Another bright spot occurred just a few weeks ago with another successful Blood Drive in cooperation with Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica. It was better than the last drive a couple of years ago. This truly convinces me that St. Mark parishioners care. St. Mark's is truly a life giving community

Working together, giving of your time and talent, volunteering and sharing of all our gifts has allowed St. Mark's to continue to grow and serve in a way that reassures me that we are on the right path. My hope is that more parishioners will take a greater and more active role in the life of our parish. As we look ahead to the second part of this year I invite you all to consider joining one of our ministries, outreaches or simply volunteering when you are invited. I would also ask you to continue to give your financial support to our parish which then allows us to serve you and others better. Please consider being as generous as you are able

Please join us for all of the Holy Week Services. Know that your presence would be a blessing. God bless each and every one of you. May Easter blessings envelop you in the days ahead.

With my warmest regards,

Father Michael Rocha
Pastor
